Summer time

Yay, it is finally summer.  We have been very busy already this summer.  I tried to cram everything in to the beginning of summer, knowing I would be huge and hot by the end of the summer!

We finally got moved into our new house!  It has been awesome.  We absolutely love how much more space we have.  We feel spoiled and very grateful to be able to live in our new house!

The big girls started off the summer by taking swimming lessons for 2 weeks.  I wanted to have them practiced up so that we could use our subdivisions pool this summer!  We have LOVED being able to go to the pool whenever we want.  And it has never been busy when we have been there.

Our house already had a garden planted and ready to eat from when we moved in.  I have never gardened before, so we only figured out what things were by people coming over and me showing them the garden, and them telling me what was in it!  The girls have loved playing out there and picking the stuff that is ripe.  We have; lettuce, strawberries, peas, cilantro, chives, mint, basil, beets, radishes, and carrots (and maybe some other stuff we dont know about.  The girls have to help weed and water the garden weekly as one of their chores.  Its been great to get in some practice for when we decide to plant next year!

The kids have also been doing a fair amount of bike riding.  Greg has to take them since this momma can barely walk without being out of breath right now.

I have been keeping busy with one of my hobbies: couponing and price matching.  I like to challenge myself and see how much money I can save our family when shopping.  I have always loved a good deal, but kind of taken it to the next level.

Shopping has a mission for me: To save the most amount of money possible

 All this costs over $70, but I bought it for $30

 I love bargin shopping on everything.  I got this awesome canvas painting that cost $70, for $14 on clearance.  Its going to go in Brylies Room.

 Kaden changed the theme of her room to owls, and to redo her bed, get this cute owl cut out for her wall and recover her bulletin board with owl fabric cost us about $15

The big girls are also going to summer school for two weeks.  They have only been doing fun activities!  They have had lots of fun.  Its only half a day, so that leaves me home alone with this crazy kid again.

And we have been preparing for the arrival of our baby boy.  The girls helped me paint his dresser recently.  Im finally having a boy, so you better believe there will be BLUE everywhere!  We have been consignment and garage sale shopping, and gotten all the clothes we will need for the first year!  Daddy set the crib up and we have arranged his room.  His room is going to have a dinosaur theme.  Gma Kelli is still working on his bedding, and I am working on some wall art that matches.

We have already had a little scare with him trying to come early  I was having continuous contractions one day last week.  I finally went in after having 20 in 2 hours.  It took them 5 hours, 4 different shots and 2 bags of IV fluids to get them to go away.  I am already dilated too, so I am supposed to be taking it easy now to try and keep him in longer.  

We are so excited to get to meet him soon, but want him to wait until he is healthy and strong enough!

As you see, we are plenty busy around here so thats why I haven't been blogging as much.  We are loving summer and having a blast!

Spring Soccer

The girls Spring Soccer Season came to an end today.  Both of the girls did so good this season.  Kaden who plays on a team against 3rd-6th graders improved so much over the season.  She scored her first goal and was so excited and proud about it.  She learned to be aggressive and fight for the ball.  She was one of the smallest players on the field most of the time!

Brylie did well also.  She played on a team that was 1st and 2nd graders.  Being older this year gave her an advantage.  She was aggressive and always going after that ball.  She is a little nervous to have to play up against 6th grade BOYS next year, but ready to try it out!

Im so proud of my cute little soccer players.  They were a lot tougher this year than last!

Going Private again

After our baby is born, we will be going private again for a while for safety issues.  Everyone who sent me there email last time should still be able to see the blog.  If your my Facebook friend, dont worry, you will see LOTS more pics and updates there anyways (as Im sure you already know).  But send me an email or leave a comment here with your email address (no one else will see it bc my comments are private).  Thanks guys.

We are so excited to be able to announce that we will be having a baby boy this summer.

SNOW DAY

We had 2 snow days in a row this week.  The kids were very excited to be out of school.  The big girls loved playing in the snow and were out there for about 3 hours each day!  Here are a few pics:

Yo Gabba Gabba

Ellie went to see one of her favorite TV shows LIVE!  For her birthday she got a ticket to go see Yo Gabba Gabba.  She was smiling and happy when the show first started.  But during the rest of the show she was just seriously watching every move they made.  She never looked away from the stage.  She was even drooling a few times because she was so into it!!  It was a pretty awesome, fast paced, high energy show.  At the end they sang a good bye song.  When it was over, she was a little sad that we had to go.  During the whole ride home she was singing the goodbye song that they sang and talking all about the characters.  We are pretty sure she had the time of her life!

Kaden turns 10

Today my first born, Kaden turns 10 years old!  I can not believe that 10 years ago today I became a mother.  Kaden's birthday was the most painful/awesome day of my life.  I could not believe how much I could love someone that I had just met!  I believe in love at first sight!

Kaden spent the night at her dads last night.  She woke up to a breakfast of pancakes, sausage and toast in bed.  I made her a requested dinner of all her favorites: noodles with alfredo sauce, fried okra and peaches.  Instead of a cake this year she wanted a brownie/cookie bar thing she loves.  We opened presents and she said she got EVERYTHING she wanted.  

We were going to bring treats for her class on friday but school got cancelled for a snow day!  So, we will bring them on Monday and Ellie and I will join her for lunch also.  She wants us to bring her Sonic for lunch!  

Kaden has grown up so much in the last 10 years.  She has always been such a caring girl.  She is always concerned that everyone else is happy and having fun.  She is a great big sister to all her siblings.  She has always been my best helper.  Brylie and Ellie have definitely had a second mother, having her around. Kaden is also a stubborn child who likes to sometimes be bossy.   :)
